Oil Pump

NOTE: During removal and installation procedures, refer to the component location illustration above and component notes below.

Component Notes and Information

NOTE Always replace gaskets and seals.

1 Oil Pan Lower
2 Bolt, tighten to: 10 Nm (89 inch lb)
3 Oil Pan Upper
4 Bolt, tighten to: 10 Nm (89 inch lb)
5 Honeycomb Baffle
6 Circlip
7 Rubber Fitting
8 Strainer
9 Oil Pump
- Removing, refer to Replacement. Service and Repair
- Replace as complete assembly only
10 Oil Drain Plug, tighten to: 35 Nm (26 ft lb)
11 Bolt, tighten to: 25 Nm (18 ft lb)
12 Bolt, tighten to: 10 Nm (89 inch lb)
13 Bolt, tighten to: 25 Nm (18 ft lb)
14 Transaxle Drive Plate Bolt, tighten to: 60 Nm (44 ft lb) plus additional 1/4-turn (90°)
- Always replace
- Install with locking compound AMV 188 001 02, or equivalent
15 Spacer Plate
16 Drive Plate
- When assembling, make sure that pin for ignition timing point is installed in drive plate
- Length of pin measured from drive plate: 20-22 mm (approx. 13/16 inch)
17 Oil Seal
- Replacing, refer to replacement
18 Bolt, tighten to: 10 Nm (89 inch lb)





Removal
1. Remove dipstick.
2. Drain engine oil.
3. Remove lower part of oil pan.





4. Turn engine until oil pump drive opening (center arrow) is facing downward.
5. Remove oil pump and withdraw it from below.

Installation
Reverse procedure to install.
