NOTES:
- The following table lists all malfunctions with the corresponding 5-digit code numbers that can be recognized by the control module and can be printed.
- DTC codes appear only in the printout.
- Before replacing components, check the wiring and connections to these components as well as ground connections according to the wiring diagram.
- When the repair is done, erase the DTC memory and then check the DTC memory again using the VAG1551 Scan tool.
- The DTC memory stores all static and sporadic malfunctions. A DTC is recognized as static when the malfunction occurs for at least 2 seconds (outside temperature for at least 60 seconds, engine coolant temperature sensor after at least 30 mm. with engine running). If the DTC is no longer recognized and the fault is stored as a sporadic fault, "/SP" appears on the right side of the display
- When the ignition is turned on, all recognized DTCs are considered sporadic and only if they still exist after further checking will they be stored as static DTCs.
- If a sporadic DTC is no longer recognized during 50 driving cycles (ignition on for at least 5 minutes, vehicle speed > 30 km/h (78 MPH) or more) it will be erased.
