Seatback Cover And Seatback Cushion (Sport Seat), Removing And Installing

Removing

CAUTION: Note safety measures when working on airbag.

- Remove front seat.
- Remove rear seatback.
- Remove headrest.
- Remove seatback cover.
- Remove headrest guides.
- If necessary, disconnect connector under trim for seat frame.
- Remove trim for outer seat frame.







- Remove zipper - 1 - from seatback cover - 2 -.
- Cut through upholstery clips - 3 - and open zipper.







- Raise center part of seatback - 1 - and unhook latch - 2 - of seatback.
- Cut through retaining clips at cover for seatback center part and remove cover.







- Cut through retaining clips - 1 - at cover - 2 - for side cushion.
- Pull cover over side cushion until band is visible.
- Unhook strip and take out cover.

Installing
Installation is done in reverse sequence, noting the following:
- Fasten retaining clips at cover for side cushion with special tool VAG 1634.







- Fasten cover for seatback center part with upholstery clip-nailer - 1 - (commercial).
- Use upholstery clips according to specifications by manufacturer.







- Secure zipper - 1 - with appropriate needle and thread.

CAUTION:
- Note installation notes for vehicles with side airbag.
- In order to ensure function of side airbags, install new upholstery clips in the same place when working on seatback cover.
- Use only seatback covers for side airbag released by Audi AG.
- Note seat installation instructions for vehicles with side airbag.
