Instrument Cluster, Values to Be Entered When Replacing
The following must be observed when replacing the instrument cluster:
NOTE:
- Always code the instrument cluster.
- Write down values displayed on the VAG1551 Scan Tool (ST) of all adaptation channels of the service reminder functions and trip odometer before replacing the instrument cluster.
- These values must be entered because counting goes back to the next required service.
- Make note of the trip odometer reading before replacing the instrument cluster and enter this value into the new instrument cluster according to instructions.
- Also in countries with odometers in miles, the adaptation of the odometer must be made in km (miles x 1.609 = kilometers). It is necessary to convert miles into km or the values previously noted must be entered.
- After the instrument cluster has been replaced, do the following:
- Code instrument cluster.
- Enter remaining values for the next oil change service.
- Enter noted values for the next Service Inspection 1 (distance)
- Enter noted values for the next Service Inspection 1 (time)
- Enter noted values for the next Service Inspection 2 (time)
- Enter odometer reading (kilometers/miles)
