Lateral Acceleration Sensor, Removing and Installing

Under the front seats (left and right) there is a sensor installed for lateral acceleration. The sensors are the same for left and night.

Removing


CAUTION!
Note safety measures when working on airbag.



- For vehicles with coded radio unit, radio/navigation system (RNS) note coding; ask if necessary.
- Disconnect battery ground strap/cable and cover negative pole.
- Remove front seat.
- Remove sill plate.







- Pry out 2 plugs -1-.
- Unscrew 2 nuts -2-.
- Remove heating duct -3-.







- Pull out floor mat -4- under trim B-pillar and flip up.
- Raise up air duct -5-.
- Remove connector -6-.
- Unscrew 2 bolts -7- and remove sensor for lateral acceleration -8-.

Installing
Installation is done in reverse sequence, noting the following:

- Note installed position of sensor for lateral acceleration -8-.
- Arrow points outward.

2 - Nut - 3 Nm/27 in. lb (2 pieces)
7 - Bolt - 4.5 Nm/40 in. lb (2 pieces)
