Output Diagnostic Test Mode (DTM) (Function 03)
Output Diagnostic Test Mode (DTM) (Function 03) up to KW 18.99.
Output Diagnostic Test Mode (DTM) is used to check the operation of the crash response system. When triggering the airbags, the central locking is simultaneously switched to "open".
NOTE:
- Switch central locking to "close" (operate interior switch) before performing output Diagnostic Test Mode (DTM).
- Set interior light switch to "door contact" position.
- After output Diagnostic Test Mode has been performed, central locking operation only becomes active again after DTC memory of central locking control module has been erased.

When indicated on display:

- Enter "03" for the function "Output Diagnostic Test Mode (DTM)" and press -Q- button to confirm input.
When indicated on display:
Output Diagnostic Test Mode (DTM) ->
Signal central locking unlock
Central locking must switch to "open".
Emergency flashers and inside lights switch on.
- Operate interior switch. Central locking must not switch back to "close".
NOTE:
- After this work step, DTC 01366 will be stored in DTC memory of central locking control module.
- After completion of output Diagnostic Test Mode (DTM), DTC memory of the central locking control module must be checked and this DTC must be erased.

Output Diagnostic Test Mode (DTM) (function 03) From KW 18.99.
Output Diagnostic Test Mode (DTM) is used to check the operation of the crash response system. When airbags are triggered, the central locking system simultaneously switches to "open", the interior switch is blocked and the fuel supply is interrupted. Emergency flashers and inside lights switch on.
NOTE:
- Before performing output Diagnostic Test Mode (DTM), switch central locking system to "close" (operate interior switch) and start engine.
- Set interior light switch to "door contact" position
- After output Diagnostic Test Mode (DTM), central locking operation is only active again after DTC memory of central locking control module has been erased.

Engine must stop running.
Central locking must switch to "open".
Emergency flashers and inside lights switch on.
- Operate interior switch. Central locking must not switch back to "close".
NOTE:
- After this work step, DTC 01366 will be stored in DTC memory of central locking control module.
- After completion of output Diagnostic Test Mode (DTM), DTC memory of the central locking control module must be checked and this DTC must be erased.
- After this work step, several DTCs will be stored in Engine Control Module (ECM).
- After completion of output Diagnostic Test Mode (DTM), Engine Control Module (ECM) must be checked and these DTCs must be erased. Dependant on ignition and fuel injection in Repair Manual; Repair Group: 01 On Board Diagnostic (OBD); Checking and erasing DTC memory.
- Fuel shut-off as of KW18.99 is a running change, depending on engine version.
- If the engine does not stop, check whether the fuel shut-off has been realized in Engine Control Module (ECM).
- If the engine does not stop and the fuel shut-off has been realized in Engine Control Module (ECM), check wires to ECM.
