Windshield, Removing And Installing







1 - Windshield
- Clearance to roof frame: dimension - a - = 7 mm

NOTE: Stickers on the windshield (e.g. for airbag) must be reapplied in the same position on the new windshield.

2 - Trim molding
- Pull out of retaining clips - 5 - toward top.
- When installing, make sure trim molding engages in retaining clips.
3 - Adhesive bead
- Bead thickness and distance from window edge.
4 - Upper spacers (5x)
- Measuring from center of curved portion at window corner, install five spacers at equal intervals (arrows).







5 - Retaining clips (10x)
- Trim molding - 2 - must completely engage in retaining clips during installation
6 - Pop rivet
- Drill off rivet head and knock rivet shaft through.
- To avoid contact corrosion, use only genuine Audi rivets

7 - Base plate
8 - Plenum chamber cover
- To remove, remove windshield
- Removing and installing => Fig. 1
9 - Lower spacers (3x)
- Attach according to marks on edge of window (arrows)

- Remove wiper arms.
- Pry off cap - 2 - and remove bolts - 3 -.
- Rotate clips - 1 - at plenum chamber cover about 1/2 turn (180 degrees) and remove trim.
