Windshield Wiper System Components, Removing and Installing

NOTE: Before removing the wiper arms, make sure the windshield wiper motor is in the "park" position.

Removing wiper arms:
- Remove wiper blades.
- Carefully lift covers on wiper arms using screw driver.
- Loosen nuts -1- of wiper arms but do not remove nuts.
- Gently lift/twist wiper arms on shafts to loosen.
- Remove nuts completely and remove wiper arms from shafts.





Removing and installing wiper motor and linkage
- Wiper arms, removing See above.
- Remove rubber seal from windshield trim.
- Remove screws -1- and -2- and remove windshield trim from brackets -6-.
- Remove hose connection -5- for washer nozzles -4- and remove windshield trim.







- Remove bolts -2-.
- Disconnect electrical connector at windshield wiper motor.
- Remove windshield wiper motor and linkage assembly from plenum.

Installing:


NOTE: Install the linkage assembly in the "park" position as shown in the illustration.


- Install wiper motor with linkage assembly in plenum and connect electrical connector.







- Tighten screws -2- with 6 Nm (53 in. lb).
- Connect hose -5-.
- Install windshield trim with screws -1- and -2-.
- Install rubber seal to windshield trim.
- Bring wiper motor to "park" position and install wiper blades. Check "park" position for wiper blades. Adjustments
