Climate Control Components, Engine Compartment







NOTE:
- Refrigerant system, servicing.
- Sticker in engine compartment lists fluid capacities and refrigerant type.
- Confirm proper coding of A/C control head -E87- (engine type dependant).
- Check and erase DTC Memory and perform basic setting after performing repairs.
- Discharging refrigerant system.
- A/C system cooling performance test.
- Refrigerant system pressure test.
- All components marked with * are actuated during Output Diagnostic Test Mode (DTM).
- Electrical testing is possible on all components marked with **.


1 - Air extraction vent


NOTE: For proper ventilation, air extraction vent openings in rear of luggage compartment (left and right) must not be blocked or altered.


2 - Compressor
- 6-cyl. engine equipped with Nippondenso compressor
- 4-cyl. engine equipped with Zexel compressor
- Ribbed drive belt removing and installing (6-cyl. engine)
- Ribbed drive belt, removing and installing 4-cyl. engine


CAUTION!
Refrigerant system must be discharged prior to removal or replacement of compressor.



3 - A/C clutch -N25-*
4 - Condenser


CAUTION!
Refrigerant system must be discharged prior to removal or replacement of condenser.



5 - Outside air temperature sensor -G17-**
- Removing and installing:
- Remove front bumper, separate electrical connection and un-clip sensor from mount in air guide.
6 - A/C Pressure switch -F129-**
7 - Accumulator


CAUTION!
Refrigerant system must be discharged prior to replacement of accumulator.



8 - Evaporator housing drain valve
9 - Restrictor
- Installed in refrigerant line


CAUTION!
Refrigerant system must be discharged prior to removal of restrictor.



10 - Service valve (high pressure)
- Used for checking system pressure, discharging, evacuating and recharging system.


NOTE: Cap with seal must always be re-installed after using service valve.


11 - Service valve (low pressure)
- Used for checking system pressure, discharging, evacuating and recharging system


NOTE: Cap with seal must always be re-installed after using service valve.


12 - Air flow fresh air/recirculated air flap
- Airflow flap motor -V71-* (with back pressure flap motor position sensor -G113-) removing and installing
13 - Fresh air intake duct temperature sensor -G89-**
14 - Dust and pollen filter


NOTE: Dust and pollen filter should be replaced at regular intervals.
