Front Exhaust Pipe With Three Way Catalytic (TWC) Converter (left Side), Removing And Installing
NOTE: Always replace seals, gaskets and self-locking nuts.
CAUTION!
DO NOT bend swivel joint of exhaust pipe by more than 10° to prevent damage.
Removing
- Remove engine cover panel -arrows-.
- Remove cover above left cylinder head.
- Remove air intake -arrows- between air cleaner and throttle body.
- Disconnect connector -2- for oxygen sensor after Three Way Catalytic Converter (TWC) and move wiring aside.
- Remove upper bolt between exhaust pipe and exhaust manifold.
- Disconnect connector for oxygen sensor on left side -arrow- and move wiring aside.
- From below loosen lower bolts -arrows- securing exhaust manifold to front exhaust pipe.
- Remove exhaust pipe from retainer bracket -arrow-.
- Loosen double clamp -1- and push toward front.
- Carefully take out exhaust pipe.
CAUTION!
DO NOT bend swivel joint of exhaust pipe by more than 10° to prevent damage.
Installing
Install in reverse order of removal but note the following:
- Align exhaust system to be free of stress.

Front exhaust pipe and catalytic
TWC converter to retainer bracket 25/18
Front exhaust pipe and catalytic
TWC converter to exhaust manifold 25/18
Clamp for exhaust pipe 40/30
