Radio & Multi-function steering wheel, coding

Important!
^ The radio must be coded using the VAS 5051 Diagnostic tool (see below) or the VAG 1551 Scan Tool. See Repair Manual Radio, Telephone, Navigation, Repair Group 01, Code Control Module (scan tool function 07).

^ The Multi-function steering wheel control module (when available) must be coded to accept the Cellular Telephone using the VAS 5051 Diagnostic Tool (see below) or the VAG 1551 Scan Tool See Repair Manual Radio, Telephone, Navigation, Repair Group 01, "Multi-function steering wheel control module, coding".

^ Prior to programming telephone the transceiver must be registered.

Radio control module, coding using VAS 5051

Code control module as follows:

- Connect the VAS 5051 Diagnostic tool.

- Switch ignition ON.

- From VAS 5051 Start-up screen, select "Vehicle self diagnosis".





- Select vehicle system "56-Radio".





- Select diagnosis function "07-Code control unit".





- **Input Login number "00117" on keypad and press "Q".**

**Screen shows Coding of vehicle system completed (arrow). Coding 117 shown, with former code 114 in parentheses.





- Select the back arrow <-- on navigation bar.

- Select the back arrow <-- on navigation bar again.**

**Multi-function steering wheel control module, coding using VAS 5051

Code control module as follows:





- Select vehicle system "16-Steering wheel electronics".**





- **Select diagnosis function "07-Code control unit".**





- **Input Login number "00112" on keypad and press "Q".**

**Screen shows Coding of vehicle system completed (arrow). Coding 112 shown, with former code 111 in parentheses.





- Select the back arrow <-- on navigation bar**





- **Select "06 - End output".

- Select "Go to" on navigation bar, then select Exit".

- Remove VAS 5051 Diagnostic tool**.
