On Board Diagnostic (OBD), Initiating Program

Test requirements:
- Use wiring diagram to check that fuse is OK.
- Connect VAG 1551 Scan Tool (ST).
- Anti-theft alarm not primed.


NOTE:
- If no display appears, use wiring diagram to check power supply for V.A.G 1551.
- Additional operating instructions can be called up by pressing the scan tool HELP key.
- Next step in program sequence can be selected by pressing -> key.
- Incorrect entries can be terminated by pressing C-key.


- Switch on ignition.
- Switch on printer by pressing PRINT key (lamp in key lights).
- Press key 1 for "Rapid data transfer" mode.

Indicated on display:

Enter address word XX


Address word for interior monitor: 45

- Press keys 4 and 5.

Indicated on display:


Rapid data transfer - Q
45 - Interior monitor


- Confirm entry with Q key.

Adjacent display appears after approx. 5 s:
