Safety precautions
If it is necessary to use test equipment during road test, observe the following:

CAUTION:
^ Always secure test or measuring equipment on the rear seat A second technician using a safety belt is needed to operate the equipment from there.
^ If the test or measuring equipment were operated from the passenger's seat, the passenger air bag could be deployed in an accident and possibly injure a person sitting there.

To prevent injury to persons or damage to electrical or electronic components, observe the following:
^ Connect or disconnect test and measuring equipment only when the ignition is switched off.
^ During some testing it can happen that the control module recognizes and stores a malfunction or Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC). It is therefore necessary after testing and repairs to check the DTC memory and erase the DTC memory if necessary.
^ Always switch the ignition off before disconnecting the battery, otherwise the Transmission Control Module (TCM) could be damaged.
