Engine Control Module: Testing and Inspection

Code Control Module (Function 07)
If control module does not indicate coding corresponding to vehicle, or if control module has been replaced, code it as follows.

- Connect VAS5051 tester or VAG1551 scan tool and select the control module for engine electronics using "address word" 01. [1][2]Scan Tool Connecting and Initial Checks
Ignition must remain switched on for this.

When indicated on display:

Select function XX


- Press buttons -0- and -7- to select "Code control module" and press -Q- button to confirm input.

When indicated on display:


Code Control Module Q
Enter code number XXXXX (0-32000)


- Input control module coding according to code table.
