On Board Diagnostic, Technical Data
Equipment
- Data transfer between the control module and the VAS5051 vehicle diagnostic, testing and informations system or VAG 1551 scan tool occurs in "Rapid data transfer" mode.
- DTC memory is designed for permanent memory and is therefore not dependent on voltage supply.
- Stored DTCs can be printed out by checking DTC memory.
- DTC memory must be erased after malfunction is repaired.
IMPORTANT
- Readiness code must be re - generated after erasing DTC memory and when voltage supply to the Motronic ECM - J220 - is interrupted.
- If the ECM recognizes malfunctions that lead to a worsening of emissions values, it indicates them by lighting the Malfunction Indicator Lamp (Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) - K83 -). Significance of this lamp.
- "E- Gas" relevant malfunctions are also indicated by lighting the MIL for electric accelerator mechanism ("EPC warning lamp").
