Overview of display group numbers which can be selected

Display Group 001 - 012:

Display Group 013 - 015:

Display Group 016:

Display Group 017:

Display Group 018 - 019:

Display Group 020 - 022:

Display group 001: Instantaneous occurring compressor shut off conditions, voltage for A/C clutch, -N25-, Voltage to terminal "15" and requirement recirculation mode/sensor for air quality -G238-

NOTE: For control heads with part number beginning with index letter "M" different information is transferred in a data telegram via the Can-bus from control module and from instrument cluster If there is a malfunction in the Can-bus, -E87- must not switch on compressor.

Display group 012: For control head having part numbers up to Index "K"

Display group 012: Information on Can-bus for control head having part numbers beginning with the index letter "M"

Display group 013: Switch for jet center left -F183- and right -F184-, center vent position sensor -G142- and calculated outside temperature for outside air temperature display -G106-

Display group 014: Outside air temperature sensor -G17-, Outside temperature from instrument cluster, fresh air intake duct temperature sensor -G89-, left vent temperature sensor -G150-, and right -G151-

Display group 15: Instrument cluster interior temperature sensor -G56-, calculated or determined by coolant temperature transferred into instrument cluster and sunlight photo sensor -G107-

Notes to display field 2:
- The coolant temperature is calculated by A/C control head -E87- with part number up to Index "K" under the influence of different input signals (engine rpm, engine running time, determined outside temperature, vehicle at standstill etc.)
- For vehicles with control head having part number beginning with index letter "M," the coolant temperature from the instrument cluster is calculated, and the calculated value is transferred via the Can-bus -E87-. If the instrument cluster can not supply requested information due to a component malfunction, a malfunction notice with data gram is sent, which requires DTC memory be checked.
- Reception of in formation from instrument cluster is indicated in measuring value block display group 012.

Display group 016: Voltage to fresh air blower -V2-, voltage to terminal 58d, terminal 58s and parking light 58

Notes to display group 3 and 4:
For control head having part numbers up to Index "K:"
- Depending on control head -E87- version, after switching off parking light (until ignition is switched off) approx. Battery voltage is displayed (voltage value is stored).
- Due to different versions, if complaints occur check value with control head having part numbers up to Index "K" with test box.

For control head having part numbers beginning with the index letter "M:"
- For vehicles with control head having part number beginning with index letter "M" the voltage for illumination of display (terminal 58d) is calculated by instrument cluster, the calculated value is determined via the Can-bus to -E87-. If the instrument cluster can not supply requested information due to a component malfunction, a malfunction notice with data gram is sent, which requires the DTC memory be checked.
- Reception of information from instrument cluster is indicated in measuring value block display group 012.
- The percent value determined by instrument cluster is dependent on the position of the control for illumination and instrument -E20- and from the brightness determined by the photosensor in the instrument cluster.
- Voltage from terminal 58s is not transferred via the Can-bus, rather via an additional wiring connection from the instrument cluster

Display group 017: engine rpm, compressor rpm, vehicle speed and auxiliary heater

For control head having part numbers beginning with the index letter "M:"
- For vehicles with control head having part number beginning with index letter "M" the vehicle speed is calculated by instrument cluster, the calculated value is determined by Can-bus to -E87-. If the instrument cluster can not supply requested information due to a component malfunction, a malfunction notice with data gram is sent, which requires the DTC memory be checked.
- Reception of information from instrument cluster is indicated in measuring value block display group 012.
- Should the vehicle during on Board Diagnostic (OBD) not move more than 1 km/h, this speed is indicated.

For control head having part numbers beginning with the index letter "M"
- For vehicles with control head having part number beginning with index letter "M" the voltage for illumination of display (terminal 58d) is calculated by instrument cluster, the calculated value is determined via the Can-bus to -E87-. If the instrument cluster can not supply requested information due to a component malfunction, a malfunction notice with data gram is sent, which requires the DTC memory be checked.
- Reception of information from instrument cluster is indicated in measuring value block display group 012

Display group 018: Kick-down-switch activating rear window defroster, temperature switch for coolant, A/C compressor engagement and high pressure switch -F118-

Notes to display field 2:
For control head having part numbers up to Index "K:"
- Check coolant temperature and instrument cluster for E87 up to index "K.

For control head having part numbers beginning with the index letter "M:"
- For vehicles with control head having part number beginning with index letter "M" the coolant temperature from instrument cluster is calculated, and the calculated value is transferred via the Can-bus to -E87-. If the instrument cluster can not supply requested information due to a component malfunction, a malfunction notice with data gram is sent, which requires the DTC memory be checked.
- Compressor shut off by -E87- when coolant temperature is greater than 118 °C, it is switched on alter coolant temperature has dropped to 113 °C.
- Reception of information from instrument cluster is indicated in measuring value block display group 012.

Display group 019: Left heat regulating valve -N175- and right -N176-; pump for coolant recirculation -V50- and activation of windshield defroster

NOTE:
- If vehicle has no windshield defroster and no control module -J505- is installed, "0" or "00" is displayed.
- Control module for windshield defroster -J505- switches approx. battery voltage to outlet -E87- as long as voltage to -J505- is greater than 12.7 V and the control module is not too hot.
- Control head -E87- controls a transistor (if the windshield defroster is switched on) which halves the voltage to connector D terminal 11. Control module -J505- switches on the windshield defroster.
- If during heating the windshield voltage (board voltage -J505-) drops below 12. 70 V or if control module -J505- becomes too hot, a switch opens in -J505- and the voltage at the outlet to -E87- becomes less than 5 V; simultaneously -J505- shuts off the windshield defroster

Display group 020: the last four compressor shutoff conditions

Display group 021: Idle rpm increase, activating fan for coolant and activating washer system

Display group 022: Allocation ignition key and signal for "time ignition off"
