Rear Seatback, Removing And Installing

Special tools and equipment







- VAS 1978

Removing

CAUTION: Note safety measures when working on airbag.

- Remove front seat.
- Remove trim for seat frame, outer.
- Remove trim for seat frame interior.
- Loosen seatback cover, lower from seat frame.







- Remove screws - 1 - and - 6 - (45 Nm/33 ft.lb.).
- Install compensating bushing - 2 - only on the left side.
- Spacer washer - 4 - is installed on the left and right side.
- Loosen cable mounting and tie wrap at seat.







- Remove electrical wiring - 2 - and - 3 - from connector - 4 -.
- Disconnect electrical wire - 1 -.
- Pull out connecting wire - 5 - with VAS1978 from connector housing - 6 -.
- Remove wiring from seat frame.

Installing
Installation is done in reverse sequence, noting the following:
