Seat Cover And Seat Cushion With Third Head Rest, Removing And Installing

Removing

WARNING: Observe safety precautions for working on airbag.

- Remove rear seat back.
- Remove rear seat back.
- Remove head rests.
- Remove head rest guides.
- Remove center arm rest with third headrest.

One side of seatback is depicted in illustration.







- Disengage retaining trim - 2 - all the way around and remove from seat frame.
- Punch cover - 1 - forward.







- Disengage clips - 3 - from cushion wire of seat cushion - 2 -.
- Bend up clips using a screwdriver and disengage cushion wire.
1 - Cover
- Re-attach clips - 3 - in previous locations.
- Use short clips for sport seat.
- For the normal seat, short clips are installed in the center at cross-rods, long clips around the outside.

Installing
Installation is reverse of removal, noting the following:







- Begin turning back cover in corner - A - and proceed in direction of arrow.

WARNING:
- In order to ensure the function of the side airbag, always install new cushion clamps in the same position as the old ones when working on the seat cover.
- Only use seat covers that are approved by Audi AG for side airbag.
- Observe instructions for installing rear seat back.
