Drive Shaft (Carbon Fiber)






Checking

^ Remove crossmember (arrows).
^ Remove rear exhaust system (arrows).
^ Remove left catalytic converter.
^ Remove heat shields over drive shaft.






^ Remove tunnel supports (arrows).






^ Use alignment fixture 3139 with adaptor 3139/2, as shown, and tighten plastic nuts.
^ Loosen drive shaft center bearing mounting bolts (to body).
^ Remove mounting bolts and shims.






^ Measure spaces -a-.
- Both spaces (left and right) must be equal.
- Thickness of shims required is determined from table.

Aligning drive shaft axially






^ Slide drive shaft back to stop together with alignment fixture.
^ Mark position of center bearing on body (arrow -A-).
^ Slide drive shaft forward together with alignment fixture.
^ Mark position of center bearing on body (arrow -B-).
^ Align drive shaft.
Center bearing must be located between two markings (arrow-C-).
^ Install mounting bolts and previously determined shims for drive shaft center bearing, and tighten.
^ Remove alignment fixture.






^ Install tunnel support.
^ Install heat shield over drive shaft.
^ Install exhaust system without tension.






^ Install cross brace.
