Tailgate Trim (Sun Shade), Removing And Installing







1 - Tailgate trim (bottom section)

Removing
- Remove sun shade.
- Remove screws - 5 - (4x).
- Remove screw - 3 - (1x); (2x) in vehicles with children's bench.
- Remove screw behind warning triangle Fig. 1.
- Pry out trim plate - 13 - with a screwdriver.
- Pull bottom section of trim - 1 - away from tailgate slightly.
- Using a screwdriver, release clips - 11 - (8x) on bottom section of trim - 1 -.
- Push out light - 12 - from inside.
- Disconnect connector for light - 12 -.







Installing
- Locate bottom section of trim - 1 - at rear window first, and clip into place.
- Make sure that screw - 3 - also secures grip molding - 4 -.

Vehicles with children's bench:
- When installing grip molding, press in operating lever and screw parts together.
- Check operation after assembly.







2 - Tailgate trim (top section)
- Bottom section of trim - 1 - removed

Removing
- Remove caps - 8 - (2x).
- Remove screws - 9 - (2x).
- Remove mounts - 10 - (2x) for sun shade.
- Unclip retainers - 7 - on both sides.
- Release clips - 11 - (7x) on top section of trim - 2 - by pulling sharply (do not use excessive force).

Installing
- Before installing top section of trim - 2 -, make sure that rubber buffers - 6 - (10x) are installed properly.
- Install top section of trim - 2 - into place behind side flanges on tailgate first.
- Then clip in top section of trim - 2 - at the top, and then at the sides.







3 - Screw (1x)
- Tightening torque: 5 Nm (44 in lb)

- Vehicles with children's bench have two screws - 3 - instead of one screw: Tightening torque 8 Nm (71 in lb)
4 - Grip molding
5 - Screws (4x)
- Tightening torque: 2 Nm (18 in lb)
6 - Rubber buffer(10x)
7 - Retainers
8 - Cap
9 - Screws (2x)
10 - Mounts (2x)
11 - Clip
12 - Light
13 - Trim cap

- Open flap - 1 - for warning triangle on tailgate trim - 2 -.
- Remove warning triangle.
- Push Velcro strip - 3 - clear to the side.
- Remove screw - 4 -.
Tightening torque: 2.5 Nm (22 in lb)
