Engine Compartment
NOTES:
- After performing repairs, always check and erase DTC memory perform basic setting and check the coding of A/C control head -E87-.
- A/C system servicing Servicing
- All components identified with an asterisk (*) are activated during the output Diagnostic Test Mode (DTM).
- Note different codings for A/C control head -E87-.
- An electrical test can be performed on all components identified with a double asterisk (**).
1 - Air extraction vent
- Sealing flaps on air extraction vent must be able to move freely and close automatically. Testing and Inspection
NOTE: For vehicle interior ventilation to work properly air ducts which run through the luggage compartment trim and lead to the two air extraction vents (under the bumper on the left and right) must be unobstructed.
2 - Compressor
- Only remove the compressor when the refrigerant has been discharged from the A/C system. Service and Repair
3 - A/C clutch -N25- *
- Servicing Denso compressor Service and Repair
- Check and adjust width of gap between belt pulley and clutch plate Service and Repair
4 - Condenser
CAUTION! Only remove the condenser when the refrigerant has been discharged from the A/C system.
5 - Outside air temperature sensor -G17-**
- Unclip sensor from retainer in bumper.
- Remove bumper.
- Disconnect harness connector.
6 - A/C pressure switch -F129- **
7 - Accumulator
CAUTION! Only remove the accumulator when the refrigerant has been discharged from the A/C system.
8 - Evaporator housing drain valve
- Checking, removing and installing Service and Repair
9 - Restrictor
- Installed in refrigerant line
CAUTION! Only open the screw connection when the refrigerant has been discharged from the A/C system.
10 - Service valve
- High pressure side
- For measuring, discharging and charging
11 - Service valve
- Low pressure side
NOTE: A cap with seal must always be installed on the service valves.
12 - Dust and pollen filter
- Removing and installing Service and Repair
NOTE: The dust and pollen filter element should be replaced at regular intervals. See "Maintenance."
13 - Air flow flap
- Removing and installing air flow flap motor -V71-* (with back pressure flap motor position sensor -G113-). Service and Repair
- Air flow flap motor -V71- moves both the air flow flap and the fresh air/recirculated air flap (air flow flap is closed when recirculated air mode is selected)
14 - Fresh air/recirculated air flap
- Actuated together with air flow flap by air flow flap motor -V71-
