Oxygen Sensor: Service and Repair
Oxygen Sensor
Special tools and and workshop equipment required:
- 7-piece wrench set -3337-
Removing
- Disconnect harness connector of particular oxygen sensor before catalytic convertor for Bank 1 and Bank 2 (component location, refer to Locations)
- Disconnect harness connector of particular oxygen sensor behind catalytic convertor for Bank 1 and Bank 2 (component location, refer to Locations)
- Remove particular oxygen sensor with -3337/7-.
- Lower transmission in order to remove oxygen sensors behind catalytic convertor. Manual Transmission, refer to Service and Repair. Automatic Transmission refer to Service and Repair
Installing
- When installing observe the following:
- The wiring from the oxygen sensor must be fastened at the exact same location as previously installed, to avoid contact with the exhaust pipe/
- The oxygen sensor threads are coated with a thread sealing compound that must not come in contacts with the slits in the sensor tip.
- Tightening torque 55 Nm (41 ft lb)
