Diagnostic Trouble Codes 00296 / P1704 and 18112 / P1704 - 5 Spd. Automatic Transmission 01V





1) Pay attention to which hydraulic control the transmission has when selecting measuring value block. For more detailed description.

Note for DTC 00296 / P1704:

^ Requirements for malfunction recognition- throttle position signal is OK, throttle position value is less than 25% and kick down input at Transmission Control Module (TCM) is shorted to Ground (GND) (equivalent to kick-down signal).
^ Short circuit to B+ between kick down switch -F8- and TCM cannot be detected by OBD.





1) Kick down switch -F8- is integrated into the throttle position sensor -G79-.
2) Pay attention to which hydraulic control the transmission has when selecting measuring value block.

Note about DTC 18112 / P1704:

^ Requirements and DTC recognition- Throttle valve signal is OK, throttle valve value smaller than 25% and kick-down -input at transmission control module has a short circuit to Ground (GND) (corresponds kick-down signal) or B+, engine must run).
^ This malfunction can erroneously be displayed when both the brake pedal and the accelerator pedal are depressed at the same time to kick-down (WOT) even though the kick-down switch is OK.
