VAS5051 Vehicle Diagnostic, Testing And Information System Or VAG1551 Scan Tool, Connecting And Selecting Functions

Test requirements
- Battery voltage at least 11 V
- Ground connections at engine and transmission OK
- Fuses OK
- Ground (GND) connections and Ground point for transmission OK
- Check battery Ground (GND) strap and Ground strap between battery and transmission.
- Switch ignition off.

NOTE: Data Link Connector is located in driver-side footwell lower left.







- Unclip cover for Data Link Connector.
- Connect VAS5051 tester to vehicle with VAS5051/1 diagnostic wire. Alternately, VAG1551 Scan Tool can also be attached using VAG1551/3 adapter.

WARNING:
- During a road test in an airbag-equipped vehicle, the VAS5051 tester or the VAG1551 scan tool must always be fastened to and operated from the rear seat by a second technician.
- Always observe safety precautions.

NOTE: If nothing appears in display:

- can Tool operating instructions Turn ignition on

- Turn ignition on
- Switch printer on via the PRINT button (indicator lamp in button lights up).
- Press button 1 to select "Rapid data transfer" operating mode 1.
