Ignition System: Description and Operation

NOTE:
- The engine control module is equipped with an On Board Diagnostic (OBD) capabilities.
- 11.5 Volts minimum is required for trouble - free operation of the electrical components.
- While performing certain checks it it possible that the ECM will recognize and store a Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC). Therefore after completing all checks and repairs, check and erase the DTC memory as necessary.
- If the engine only starts briefly after Troubleshooting, repair or component checks, and then turns off again, this may be because the immobilizer locks the engine control module. In this case, the DTC memory must be checked and if necessary, the control module must be adapted.
