Brake System, Bleeding With V.A.G 1869

Special tools and workshop equipment required





^ V.A.G 1869 Brake filling and bleeder unit

Notes: Bleeding the brake system on vehicles with ABS is performed in same way as vehicles with a conventional brake system.

^ Connect brake filling and bleeder unit V.A.G 1869.
^ Open bleed screws in the specified order and bleed brake calipers and wheel cylinders.

Bleeding sequence
1 - Rear right wheel cylinder or brake caliper
2 - Rear left wheel cylinder or brake caliper
3 - Front right brake caliper
4 - Front left brake caliper

Vehicles with ABS or ABS/EDL
With these vehicles a test drive must be carried out after bleeding brakes. When doing this, at least one ABS - controlled brake application must be performed.
