Navigation System Nav 4 (BNS 4.0) From Calendar Week (KW) 04/01


WARNING: Before working on electrical system, disconnect battery ground (GND) strap.


NOTE:
- Obtain radio code before disconnecting battery.
- Be sure to activate vehicle features (radio, clock, electric window regulator, engine) according to owners manual when the battery is re-connected.


General description
Navigation system BNS 4.0 (Nav 4) is a further development of the familiar Navigation system III (destination navigation).

The system consists of:
- Multi-function switch (operating unit)
- Instrument cluster (display unit)
- Control module for navigation with CD drive (central unit and navigation unit)
- GPS-antenna

All displays appear on the instrument cluster which is connected via the CAN-bus.
All entries are made via buttons on multi-function switch.
