Instrument Cluster, Removing And Installing
CAUTION: Before beginning repairs on the electrical system:
- Obtain the anti-theft radio security code.
- Switch the ignition off.
- Disconnect the battery Ground (GND) strap.
- After reconnecting battery, re-code and check operation of anti-theft radio. Also check operation of clock and power windows according to Owner's Manual.
NOTE:
- The instrument cluster must not be disassembled.
- It is not necessary to remove the steering wheel. For ease of illustration the steering wheel is not shown in the following illustrations.
- Before replacing a malfunctioning instrument cluster, check DTC memory(leave scan tool connected).
- Note odometer reading on malfunctioning instrument cluster (also possible using OBD program function 08: "Read Measuring Value Block".
- Check and note existing Service Interval Display (SID) time and distance remaining data on malfunctioning instrument cluster using OBD program function 10: "Adaptation".
Removing
- Use steering wheel adjuster to pull out and pivot steering wheel downwards as far as possible.
- Remove driver's storage compartment.
- Loosen screws -1 -.
- Pull out instrument cluster from the front.
- release cable ties on rear of instrument cluster.
- Release retainer catches on electrical connectors and disconnect from rear of instrument cluster.
Installing
- Connect electrical connectors and secure wiring harness in clip -arrow- on back of instrument cluster.
- Remaining installation is performed in reverse order of removal.
- After installing, check operation.
If operation check is OK:
- Adapt instrument cluster input values using OBD program function 10: "Adaptation".
