Fog/Driving Lamp: Service and Repair

LIGHT BULBS, REPLACING





Cover for engine compartment, left or right, must be removed before replacing bulbs at headlight.

Replacing dipped beam bulb (halogen headlights)
Removing
- Remove cover -11-
- Disconnect connector from dipped beam bulb -2-
- Disengage wire clip and take bulb out of housing.

Installing
- Insert new bulb in housing; do not touch the glass part of the bulb with bare hands.
- Secure bulb with wire clip.
- Re - connect connector and install cover on headlight housing.
- Secure cover on housing with wire retainer.

Replacing dipped beam high intensity gas discharge (Xenon) bulbs





WARNING! Always disconnect battery Ground (GND) strap before working on portions of the gas discharge (Xenon) headlights that are marked with yellow high voltage symbols.

Removing:
- Remove cover - 13 - from headlight housing -1-.
- Rotate harness connector at gas discharge (Xenon) bulb -2- counter - clockwise and remove.
- Rotate securing ring -4- for gas discharge (Xenon) bulb -3- counter - clockwise and remove.
- Remove gas discharge (Xenon) bulb -3- from housing.

Installing
- Insert new bulb in bulb holder; do not touch glass part of bulb with bare hands.
- Secure gas discharge (Xenon) bulb using securing ring -4- (rotate clockwise).
- Connect harness connector -2- at gas discharge (Xenon) bulb and rotate clockwise to secure.
- Close housing cover - 13 - again.





Replacing main beam bulb
Removing and installing is identical for halogen and high intensity gas discharge (Xenon) headlights.

Removing:
- Remove cover -11- from headlight housing -1-.
- Disengage wire clip on bulb holder -4- and take bulb holder out of housing.
- Remove bulb -3- from bulb holder.

Installing
- Install new bulb in bulb holder; do not touch the glass part of the bulb with bare hands.
- Install bulb holder in headlight and secure with wire clip.
- Install cover on housing and secure with wire retainer.

Replacing side light bulb
Removing and installing is identical for halogen and high intensity gas discharge (Xenon) headlights.

Removing
- Turn bulb holder -7- counter - clockwise and remove from headlight housing
- Turn bulb -8- to remove from housing -7-.

Installing
- Install new bulb in bulb holder; do not touch the glass part of the bulb with bare hands.
- Installation is reverse of removal.

Replacing fog light bulb
Removing and installing is identical for halogen and high intensity gas discharge (Xenon) headlights.

Removing
- Remove cover -6- from headlight housing -1- (turn counter - clockwise on left headlight and clockwise on right headlight).
- Unplug connector from fog light bulb -5-.
- Disengage wire clip and take bulb out of housing.

Installing
- Install new bulb in housing; do not touch the glass part of the bulb with bare hands.
- Secure bulb with wire clip.
- Plug in connector and install cover on headlight housing.

Replacing turn signal bulb
Removing and installing is identical for halogen and high intensity gas discharge (Xenon) headlights.

Removing
- Turn bulb holder -9- counter - clockwise and remove from housing -1-.
- Only unplug electrical connector if bulb holder -9- has to be replaced.
- Remove bulb -10- from bulb holder -9-.

Installing
- Install new bulb in bulb holder; do not touch the glass part of the bulb with bare hands.
- Install in reverse order of removal.
