Ignition Lock: Service and Repair
Ignition lock housing, removing and installing

Removing
- Remove airbag unit and airbag steering wheel.
- Remove storage compartment on driver's side.
- Remove upper and lower sections of trim for steering column switch.
- Remove steering column switch.
- Remove upper and lower surrounds.
- Drill out or if necessary chisel out shear - head bolts and remove ignition lock housing.
Installing
Note the following important points when installing:
- Insert ignition lock housing and bolt on with new shear- head bolts.
- Tighten shear - head bolts until the heads shear off.
- Attach connectors for ignition lock and immobilizer.
- Align steering column switch with steering wheel and tighten.
- Fit upper and lower surrounds.
- Fit upper and lower sections of trim for steering column switch.
- Install storage compartment on driver's side.
- Install airbag steering wheel and airbag unit.
