Wheels and Tires: Service Precautions

General notes
- For reasons of safety, tires should be replaced not individually, but in pairs for one axle at a time or for both axles together.
- The tires with the deeper tread should always be fitted to the front wheels.
- It is advisable to use tires of the same make, design and tread pattern on all wheels.
- When fitting a new wheel rim or tire, always make sure to renew the rubber valve.
- Tires should be fitted with the DOT marking facing outward. In the case of tires with a directional tread pattern, this only applies to the left - hand side of the vehicle.
- If using tires with a directional tread pattern, the wheel/tire combination for the spare wheel should be the same as for the wheels on the right - hand side of the vehicle.
