Engine, Attaching to Engine Stand

Before carrying out repair work, attach the engine to support clamp VW 313 with engine and gearbox support VW 540.

Procedure
^ Unbolt gearbox.





^ Engage lifting tackle 2024A with retainer 3180 as shown in the illustration and lift engine off engine/gearbox jack V.A.G1 383A using workshop crane V.A.G 1202A.
Pulley end:
- 2nd hole on support bar in position 1
Flywheel end:
- 3rd hole on support bar in position 5

CAUTION! Always use split pins to secure hooks and retainer pins.





^ Secure engine to engine/gearbox support VW 540 and fit to support clamp.
