Lateral Control Arm Removal and Installation


Lateral control arm, removing and installing
- Refer also to Longitudinal and Lateral Control Arms, Overview.

Removing
- First remove spring.





- Remove drive axle -1- from drive flange -2-





- Remove bolt -1- and/or -2-.
3 - Upper lateral control arm
4 - Lower lateral control arm
5 - Longitudinal control arm





- Remove bolt -1- and/or -2-.
3 - Upper lateral control arm
4 - Lower lateral control arm

Installing
Remainder of installation is the reverse of removal.
Vehicle must be standing on its wheels when bolts for lateral control arm are tightened.
After installing, camber and toe setting must be checked on an alignment stand.

Tightening torques:
Lateral control arm at longitudinal control arm Tighten to 70 Nm + 90°
Always use new nuts and bolts.
Lateral control arm at subframe Tighten to 70 Nm + 90°
Always use new nuts and bolts
Drive axle at drive flange tighten to 40 Nm
