Checking and Adding Oil

Manual transmission with bevel box, checking oil

Notes: Transmission and bevel box are filed together through the oil filler hole in the transmission.





Work sequence
- To check oil level, unscrew oil filler plug (arrow).
- Specification: oil level up to lower edge of filler hole
- Top up transmission oil if necessary.
- Fit oil filler plug.
- When filling with new oil and after removing or installing the bevel box note the following:
- Remove plug (arrow).
- Top up oil to lower edge of filler hole.
- Fit oil filler plug.
- Start engine, engage gear and allow transmission to turn for approximately 2 minutes.
- Stop engine and remove plug (arrow).
- Top up oil to lower edge of filler hole again.
- Fit oil filler plug.
