Procedure On Replacing Lock Set Or Instrument Cluster
NOTE: To guarantee subsequent identification of immobilizer, the following steps must always be performed when replacing lock set or instrument cluster.
1 - Lock set with 2-part sticker
NOTE: The sticker on key tag of new locking set serves to identify mechanical locking.
- Detach right sticker -2- (with bar code) from key ring of new lock set and dispose of it.
- Pull left sticker -1- (with no bar code) off new key ring and stick it onto customer's key ring in place of old left sticker.
2 - Immobilizer control module integrated in instrument cluster
The Dealer must establish the PIN number on the basis of the 14-position identification number of the immobilizer/engine control module using direct system checking (as for direct checking of radio code). It is also possible to obtain secret number from appropriate regional sales center or importer.
The 14-digit identification number of immobilizer can be read out via self-diagnosis function.
Use vehicle diagnostic, testing and information system VAS 5051.
CAUTION: The secret number is intended for internal use only and should not be given to the customer.
