Steering column, checking for damage
Visual inspection
- Check whether steering column components reveal signs of damage.

Checking operation
- Check whether steering column can be turned without catching or stiffness.
- Check whether axial position and height of steering column can be adjusted.





- Check gap -dimension A- between slide and mounting bracket.
Dimension A: maximum 0.5 mm or less
If dimension -A- is greater than 0.5 mm, steering column is damaged and must be replaced.
