Steering: Testing and Inspection

Power steering system, checking for leaks
- Start engine.
- Turn steering wheel lock to lock and hold briefly.

Note:
^ This builds up maximum pressure.
^ To avoid pump damage, engine must not run for more than 10 seconds when performing this test.

Check the following components for leaks in this position:
^ Steering pinion oil seal on valve housing of steering gear
^ All line connections
