Seat Belt Buckle: Testing and Inspection
Belt Buckle, Attachment Point
- Removing seat.
- Belt buckle -1-.
- Unscrew bolt -2-.
Tightening torque: 24 Nm (18 ft lb)
NOTE:
- Due to control reasons, it is possible that seat occupation recognition and seatbelt fastened sensor have been installed between VIN 4BZV 024500 and 4BZV 033300 that are without function.
- When replacing a seat belt buckle on vehicles in the above mentioned VIN range, install a belt buckle without a "belt fastened" detector.
On vehicles with a "belt fastened" detector and belt buckle switch (only on driver's side, in models for some countries), remove wires from red connector housing.
- Using a screwdriver, pry out retaining hooks -4- on red connector housing -1-.
- Push red connector housing -1- through toward the rear.
Wire pin -6- (2x) is for "belt fastened" detector.
- Red connector housing -1- for "belt fastened" detector and main power supply
- Release cable retainer -2- in direction of arrow by prying out at opening -3-.

- Remove wires -4- for "belt fastened" detector from sockets 5 and 6. On driver's side (in models for some countries) also remove wires -4- for belt buckle switch from chambers 1 and 2.
- Open cable ties.
