ABS front axle components, removing and installing





1. Bolts
- Always replace
- Vehicle must not be raised when tightening
- Tightening torque, bolt M14:
- 115 Nm + 1/2- turn (180°)
- Tightening torque, bolt M16:
- 190 Nm + 1/2- turn (180°)
2. Clamping sleeve
- Always replace
- Left and right sides are identical
- Before installing, coat hole in wheel bearing housing with brake cylinder paste G 000 650
- Push into wheel bearing housing up to stop
3. Sealing cuff
4. ABS wheel speed sensor
- Install drive axle before installing wheel speed sensor
- Push into clamping sleeve up to stop
- Replacing, Refer to Wheel Speed Sensor.
5. Drive axle with ABS wheel speed sensor rotor
- Check rotor for dirt and damage, Refer to Rotor.
- If rotor is damaged, outer constant velocity joint must be replaced
, Refer to Steering and Suspension.
- Outer constant velocity joint is supplied with ABS wheel speed sensor rotor as replacement part
