1) The Tiptronic Switch-F189 is integrated in the printed circuit of the symbol insert that is located in the cover for the shift mechanism. In case of a malfunction check the Tiptronic switch first. Check whether the solenoid valve, located on the side of the slide is properly secured. If it is not properly secured, replace the slide. If the solenoid valve is properly secured and the wiring is OK, replace the symbol insert with integrated printed circuit.
2) When the selector lever is in the Tiptronic slot you can downshift by slightly moving the selector lever toward the rear, (-), or with vehicles equipped with the Tiptronic steering wheel by pressing one of the (-) buttons on the steering wheel (downshift switch). By slightly moving the selector lever toward front (+), or with vehicles equipped with a Tiptronic-steering wheel, you can manually upshift by pressing one of the (+) buttons on the steering wheel (upshift switch)
