Windshield Wiper System, Removing and Installing

Removing







- Pull off rubber seal of plenum chamber cover in direction of arrow.
- Remove cover -1- toward front.







- Remove Heater Core E-box cover (arrows).

Removing wiper arms
- Remove and install wiper system and let run to end position.
- Remove wiper blades.
- Lever off both caps at wiper arms using a screwdriver.







- Loosen hex nuts (arrows), but do not remove both nuts.
- Loosen wiper arms -1- via slight movement.
- Remove hex nuts completely and remove wiper arms.
- Pull out retaining clips (3x) for cowl grill.
- Carefully lever cowl grill -2- out from windshield edge.
- Remove cowl grill.

Remove wiper frame with linkage and wiper motor







- Remove bolts -1-.
- Carefully swing wiper frame -2- upward at rear (arrows) and remove complete from plenum chamber toward right.
- Disconnect connector at wiper motor.

Remove wiper motor from linkage


NOTE: Hex nut at wiper motor crank may not be loosened.







- Lift off linkage -3- from bail joint (arrow).
- Remove three hex bolts -2- from wiper motor bracket.
- Remove wiper motor -1- from wiper motor bracket.

Installing
Installation is reverse of removal, noting the following:







- Bolt in wiper motor -1- with crank at wiper frame.
- Re-connect linkage -3- while adjusting linkage rest position.
- Linkage must be aligned with the wiper motor crank (line a)
- Connect connector to wiper motor.
- Insert wiper frame with wiper motor into plenum chamber in advance.
- Flip wiper frame forward and bolt in.
- Adjust windshield wiper blades in rest position.
