Guide Link, Aluminum Wheel Bearing Housing

Removing
^ Remove wheel trim; on light-alloy wheels, pull off trim cap (use puller in vehicle tool kit).
^ Remove wheel.
^ Secure brake disc with a lug bolt.
^ Remove brake caliper and secure at subframe.
Counter hold joint pin with 4 mm AF hex key if necessary.
^ Remove nut from joint pin of track control link

Note: For safety reasons, reinstall collar nut on track control link joint pin with approximately 4 turns until flush.





^ Remove guide link joint pin nut and press off joint pin.
Do not damage joint protective boot when doing this!





^ Remove hex bolt - 1 -.
Take care not to damage the paint or the surfaces of the brake lines.
^ Lower sub-frame at the rear if necessary.
^ Remove hex bolt -2- and -3-.
^ Remove guide link.

Installing
^ Bonded rubber bushings can only be turned to a limited extent. The bolted connections on the suspension links should therefore only be tightened when the vehicle is standing on the ground.
^ All bolts and nuts must be replaced.





^ Tighten nut on joint pin to 125 Nm (92 ft. lbs.).
^ Tighten to 90 Nm (66 ft. lbs.) plus additional 90° turn.
^ Tighten item -2- to 150 Nm (111 ft. lbs.) plus additional 90° turn.
^ Tighten hex bolts -3-.
^ Tighten to 23 Nm (17 ft. lbs.) (3x).
^ Install brake disc, bolt on brake caliper and tighten to 190 Nm (140 ft. lbs.) (M14 x1.5 x 38).
