Measuring Value Blocks (Function 08)

Read Measuring Value Block (Function 08)

NOTE:
- 10 measuring value blocks each containing 4 measured values are available.
When performing read measuring value block, function 08:
- Control of A/C system is possible (compressor runs, air distribution control is possible etc.)
- Readouts in display groups 02 to 05 show the actual measured values (servo motor potentiometer resistances) learned during the last basic setting.
- The position of air/temperature distribution flaps can be altered by manual control of the control head and corresponding flap positions can be determined by watching the display values change.
- Measured values in display must correspond to specified values.

Print-outs of measuring value block tables are available using the VAG1551 printer function.

Initiating read measuring value block
- Start engine.
- Set "AUTO" mode at A/C control head (compressor switched on).
- Run fresh air blower on high speed for about 1 minute (in order to adjust flap flap motors).
- Connect VAG1551, enter address word 08 "A/C Heating Electronics" and move forward in programme until "select function XX" appears in display.

Display group 01 (compressor cut-off conditions)

NOTE:
- When display field -1- shows compressor cut-off condition codes 1, 8, 11 or 12, the A/C Clutch -N25- cannot be actuated during Output Diagnostic Test Mode (DTM). [1][2]Output Diagnostic Test Mode (DTM) (Function 03) If compressor cut-off condition code 5 appears in addition to other compressor cut-off condition, ignore code 5.
- If several compressor cut-off condition codes exist at the same time (display field -1-), the cut-off conditions are either displayed alternately or only the cut-off condition which has been assigned the highest priority by A/C control head -E87- is displayed.

Display group 01 (compressor cut-off conditions)

NOTE:
- When display field 1 shows compressor cut-off condition codes 1, 8, 11 or 12, the A/C Clutch -N25- cannot be actuated during Output DTM. [1][2]Output Diagnostic Test Mode (DTM) (Function 03) If compressor cutoff condition code 5 appears in addition to other compressor cut-off conditions, ignore code 5.
- If several compressor cut-off condition codes appear simultaneously in display field 1, conditions are displayed alternately or the cut-off condition assigned the highest priority by A/C control head -E87- is displayed.
- With A/C pressure switch -F129- open, compressor cut-off condition "1" appears next (excess refrigerant system pressure) and the compressor is shut off. If A/C pressure switch -F129- remains open for more than 30 seconds, it switches over to compressor cut-off condition "3" (empty refrigerant system, vacuum).

Note on display group 007 display field 3:

For the A/C control head -E87- with only one display, the instrument panel interior temperature sensor -G56- is installed in the A/C control head -E87-. -G56- cannot be checked or replaced individually, if malfunctioning replace -E87- completely.

NOTE:
- Display group 1 indicates current compressor cut-off conditions.
- For vehicles with an A/C control head with one display and part number 8D0 820 043 after index "M" the last four compressor cut-off conditions that were effective for more than 20 seconds are indicated in display group 011.
