NOTE:
- On vehicles with coded radio, obtain anti-theft code before disconnecting battery.

- When dealing with problems, it is important to know the functions and how to operate the radio system.
- Additional information
- When retrofitting, repairing or troubleshooting
- Detailed fitting instructions (e.g. removing and installing trim panels).
- It is advisable to use only radio sets and parts from the Volkswagen and Audi range of accessories (Votex). Otherwise, trouble-free installation and optimum reception cannot be guaranteed.
- All radio systems have an anti-theft coding.
Notes for retrofitting radios:
- For radio set-up, the installed connectors are provided for original Audi radio units.
- Radio units with other connectors must be connected via adapter cables.
- Take special care that the connection for speed signal (for radio with Gala function) to radio does not have a short circuit, otherwise malfunctions can appear in vehicle (e.g. engine control).
- The connection of speed signal to other radio brands can also lead to malfunctions in vehicle.
- When installing other radio units, the antenna amplifier can be influenced, since the original Audi radio units use a "remote supplied antenna" which means that the voltage supply of the antenna amplifier is supplied via the center conductor of the HF cable. Therefore use the remote supply adapter approved by Volkswagen and Audi (manufacturer: Votex).
Note for CD retrofitting:
For CD-preparation, the wire set for the CD changer is already installed in vehicle. The wire connection can only be used for original Audi CD changers.
