Read Measuring Value Block (Data Block) (Function 08)

Requirements for test:
- Coolant temperature at least 80 degree C
- Electrical consumers switched off (radiator fan must not run during the test)
- Air conditioner switched off

Test sequence
- Connect the vehicle diagnostic, testing and information system VAS 5051 ,and select the vehicle system "01 - Engine electronics" from the menu. When doing this the engine should be idling. Connecting VAS 5051/VAG1551 Scan Tool






Display on VAS 5051:
- Select diagnosis function "08 - Read data block" from the menu -1-.






Display on VAS 5051:
1 - Enter display group
(figures up to 255)
- Using the keypad -2-, enter the required display group number (3 figures) and confirm entry with the Q button.

NOTE: The choice of display group number depends on which functions and components are to be tested.






Display on VAS 5051 for display group 000:
1 - Display group 0
2 - Display zones 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10






Display on VAS 5051 for display groups 001 to 255:
1 - Display group X
2 - Display zone 1
Display zone 2
Display zone 3
Display zone 4

NOTE:
- A blank readout indicates a vacant display zone (containing no information).
- Other display groups can be selected as follows:

Display group VAS 5051
Up Press [up arrow] button
Down Press [down arrow] button

- Press the <- button to exit from the function "08 - Read data block".
