CAUTION!
Before beginning repairs on the electrical system:
- Obtain the anti-theft radio security code.
- Switch the ignition off.
- Disconnect the battery Ground (GND) strap.
- After reconnecting vehicle battery, re-code and check operation of anti-theft radio. Also check operation of clock and power windows.
NOTE:
- Steps after reconnecting voltage supply.
- The control module for immobilizer is integrated into the instrument cluster, i.e. the control module for immobilizer is replaced together with the instrument cluster.
Malfunctioning transponder and/or lost keys
- The transponder is integrated into the vehicle key.
- If the transponder is faulty or if a key was lost, the complete key must be replaced.
- Order the replacement key with integrated transponder according to the lock number.
- Perform adaptation of all vehicle keys.
Do this using vehicle diagnostic, testing and information system VAS 5051.
Induction coil, replacing
- The induction coil is connected to the lock cylinder and cannot be replaced individually.
- The induction coil and lock cylinder must be replaced together.
- Order a new lock cylinder with vehicle specific lock number via the distributor or importer.
