INSTRUCTIONS: Perform this procedure on all applicable vehicles within the Limited New Vehicle Warranty.

Tip:

This Technical Bulletin is in effect for 15 months from date of publication as listed above. After that date, this Technical Bulletin will expire and no longer be in effect.

Condition

Install additional heat insulation on engine wiring harness.





Production

Service Requirements:

Vehicle must meet ALL of the following criteria.





1. - Procedure is valid only for vehicles that show the IA code in the OTIS View Campaign inquiry screen on the day of repair as shown.

2. - Vehicle must be within the Limited New Vehicle Warranty.

3. - Procedure must be performed within the allotted time frame stated in this Technical Bulletin.

Tip:

Procedure must also be performed on applicable vehicles in Dealer inventory.

Parts Required





One Service kit (Part No. 8E0 998 099).

Tip:

Procedure:





- Install heat insulation cover (Part No. 8D0 971 461) on engine wiring harness at location shown.

- Close snaps on cover (2).

- Slide cover to location where harness branch separates from main harness.

- Install tie strap N 020 902 2 at top of insulation cover (1).





- Install anchored tie strap on threaded stud at plenum wall.

- Loosely install tie strap as shown around wiring -arrow- .

- Located wiring harness insulation 40 mm above tire strap.

- Completely tighten tie strap.
