Rear Cross-Member: Service and Repair

Tunnel crossmember, removing and installing

Removing
- Remove noise insulation tray.





- Unscrew combi nuts -arrows-.
- Support transmission with engine/transmission lifter VAG 1383 A and a hardwood support.





- Unscrew bolts -1- and -2-.
- Take out tunnel crossmember.

Installing





- Tighten combi bolt -1- to 110 Nm plus additional 90° turn.
Use new washer and bolt.
- Tighten combi bolt -2- to 55 Nm.





- Tighten combi nuts -arrows- to 23 Nm.
- Install noise insulation tray.
