A/C - Unequal Heat Distribution Driver/Passenger Sides

Affected Vehicles
85 Driver side cooler than passenger side
Condition
The heating on the driver side is cooler than on the passenger side. Unequal quantity of heat between driver's and passenger's sides.
Technical Background
Guide pin dislodged from cam plate. Cause unknown.
Production Solution
No change.
Service
1. Remove the close-out panel on the driver side.
2. Set the air conditioning to High.

3. Inspect the position the guide pin.
Figure 1 depicts the incorrect position of the guide, outside the cam plate. The temperature flap is inoperative.
Figure 2 depicts the correct position of the guide.
4. If the guide pin is in the position depicted in Figure 1, reengage the linkage.

When procedure applies to vehicles under warranty, use the table.
