Crash Sensor For Rear Side-airbag (head-level Airbag) From M.y. 2003, Removing And Installing

WARNING: Observe safety precautions for working on airbags.







1 - Crash sensor for rear side-airbag

- Removing

NOTE: In the illustration, crash sensor for rear side-airbag is depicted on the passenger side. Removal and installation on the driver side proceeds in the same manner.

See Caution before beginning repairs on the electrical system
- Disconnect battery Ground (GND) strap.







- Remove side panel.
- Disengage tab on yellow connector - 3 - and disconnect connector.
- Remove two bolts - 2 - at crash sensor.

- Installing
- Switch ignition on.

WARNING: No person may be inside the vehicle when connecting the battery.

See Caution for connecting Telematics battery.
- Connect battery Ground (GND) strap.

2 - Bolts (2x)
- Tightening torque 9 Nm
3 - Acceleration sensor connector

NOTE:
- Observe safety precautions after connecting the battery.
- If Airbag Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) -K75- signals a malfunction after installation, DTC memory must be checked, erased and once again checked using VAS 5051 tester.
